Sinnerman
Ten minute short film
Synopsis
We focus on an unnamed painter as he struggles to find inspiration, feeling a sense of unfulfillment and that he has run dry.
After a strange dream about a woman surrounded by three faceless figures, he becomes utterly obsessed with her– drawing her over and over again trying to capture her beauty. He stops eating, showering, sleeping just to draw her. The more time passes, the more he forgets about the specific details of her face and his sketches start to become more and more distorted, almost unhuman. Because of this, he falls into a depressive episode, unable to properly function.
The film ends on a realisation that he is himself the woman from his dream: the woman is a version of him hidden in the darkness of his mind, whereas the character of the artist is confined by his beliefs and the restrictions of society.
