Silent Expressions

Silent Expressions is a two-minute short film exploring a moment of goodbye, and the fragmentation of a relationship. The awkward atmosphere created from the lack of dialogue yet contrasted by close ups of intimacy makes their relationship ambiguous and open to interpretation. As they sit on a bench, they contemplate how to pass the time leading up to their separation. The bench acts as a symbolic space, giving a glimpse into one specific relationship, and hinting at all the important moments spent in mundane environments.

I edited this film using DaVinci Resolve, colour-grading it to give it a cold, greyish tone to reflect the tense atmosphere of the scene, and the pain of goodbyes.​
